Hello my name is Bernie. I am originally from Louisiana where I grew up fishing in saltwater with my father and grandfather. We targeted speck trout, redfish and flounder or actually anything that I could reel in. We also pulled a trawl on occasion for shrimp which was very exciting to me as a youngster. I moved to Mississippi I the late 80’s and began a lot of fresh water fishing. Now the species are crappie, bass and catfish. I do love fishing the Mississippi river for catfish but I love crappie and bass fishing in Louisiana and Mississippi. However since my grandfather and father have passed I don’t go back to the Louisiana marsh as often as I like. Hurricane Katrina really devastated the areas in which I use to fish a lot but it is a still very enjoyable place to fish.
